Speedlinking 9/11/06

I am horribly jet-lagged, but I want to try to get back into the flow of things. So I will begin this week with a handful of links that I read last night and this morning. I hope to get back into the daily link collection as soon as possible.

Image of the day is from ~selvkontrol at deviantART.

And with that, let us begin . . . .

~ Steve at Naked Reflections has been having a go with some troglodytes from the Gagdad Bob site who insist on acting like spoiled children. Somehow, Steve manages to treat them with respect no matter how personal their attacks and how below the belt they go.

~ Mike at Unknowing Mind has been reading the Bhagavad-Gita. The verse that catches his eye leads him to a nice post on working with our feelings.

~ Mumon at Notes in Samsara has a rather unique post in comparing James Dobson (the idiot behind Focus on the Family) and Lao-Tzu -- on parenting.

Some thoughts on 9/11:

~ From John at Craig Photography.
~ From Kevin at Transmillennial.
~ From genkaku at genkaku.
~ From Peter Wehner at Real Clear Politics.
~ From David Frum at the National Review.
~ From Time magazine.
~ From Wired magazine.
~ From Truthdig, a video compilation from the coverage when it happened.

Finally, a note to remind anyone who doesn't already know -- Joe Perez is back online and blogging at Rising Up with a new url. Adjuts your feed readers accordingly.

Welcome back, Bill, even if you were never really gone. :-) Thanks for the heads-up on Joe Perez's blog.
